Todd Parr is the author and illustrator of more than thirty books for children, including the New York Times bestselling The I Love You Book, The Earth Book, and The Thankful Book. His books are available in over fifteen languages throughout the world. He is the co-creator of the popular children's television show ToddWorld.
Todd grew up in Rock Springs, Wyoming. In 1984, he became a flight attendant for United Airlines and lived in Chicago and Honolulu. In 1990 he moved to San Francisco, California where he pursued a career as an artist. After being rejected by many galleries, Todd showed his artwork at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant Postrio. This exhibit led to him creating merchandise for Macy's and his children's clothing line.
Todd published his first book in 1998. In 2005, the preschool television show he co-created, ToddWorld, premiered on TLC and Discovery Kids. He uses bright colors and bold, black outlines to illustrate his books which contain simple messages about acceptance, difference, and empowerment. Todd's books have won several awards and his TV show, ToddWorld, was nominated for three Daytime Emmy® awards. Todd lives in Berkeley, California with his family Pete, Tater Tot and Jerry.
